The
Bacchereto Rural Estate 25 km from Florence, located on the
Montalbano hills between Florence and Pistoia, is rich with
vineyards and olive groves from which four excelent wines are
made (Carmignano D.O.C.G., Vinsanto D.O.C, and Chianti D.O.C.G.)
as well as a splendid extra virgin olive oil. In this ideal,
fertile, natural setting, the Bacchetero rural estate has offered
a high quality of agricultural tourism for many years.
The
guests are lodged in typical Tuscan cottages rebuilt with respect
to their original spirit and form. Some of the spacious rooms,
with two or more beds have a private bathroom. Others share
a bathroom. They are simply but authentically furnished, and
organized either as self-catering apartments with fully equipped
kitchens, or as separate rooms without the use of kitchen. The
length of stay is flexible: one can rent the apartments/rooms
by the week, day, or even for a single night. The whole country
estate has 36 beds available in seven separate houses.
Among
the most popular attactions offered by Bacchereto Country Estate
are the " study vacations " consisting of various
cultural and handicraft courses.These
short workshop( usually lasting eight to ten days) are led by
professional master of the arts concerned. The courses occupy
several hours each day, during the morning or afternoon, and
are held either outside under the trees, or indoors in light,
comfortable spaces or in the Antique Furnace of Bacchereto
During
free time, the participants can take long walks through the
countryside or through the pine forests surrounding the farm.One
may even choose to visit the historically and artistically rich
surroundings of Florence( one half hour by car ) or Siena, Pisa,
Lucca, Pistoia, San Gimignano, Volterra, the beaches of Versilia
or the mountains of Abetone: all accessible within an hour by
car. The close by more famous centers of Montelupo Fiorentino
and Sesto Fiorentino.
The
Bacchereto rural estate also has its own restaurant called "Cantina
di Toia" located in an antique and beautiful villa, once
home of Lucia di Zoso, Leonardo da Vinci 's grandmother. Here
one may savor some of the best Tuscsan cooking and buy the Farm
's products. Under some circumstances, meals may be ordered
in advance and delivered to the Farm's residences. The Rural
estate also has access to a vast and luminouss hall where it
is possible to hold reunions, seminars, conventions, presentations
